Jerry Davis was raised in Fresno, California and attended Edison High School.

As a senior at Edison High School, Jerry Davis threw for over 2,100 yards and 29 touchdowns. Jerry Davis also received the Area Player of the Year Award.

In 2008, the University of Buffalo recruited Jerry Davis to become a Buffalo Bulls football player. Jerry Davis entered the Buffalo Bulls roster as the #4 6’1” 200 lbs quarterback. Jerry Davis spent his first Buffalo Bulls season redshirted.
