Jeff Niedermeier was born July 16, 1985, grew up in New Washington, Ohio, and graduated from Buckeye Central High School. As a high school athlete, Jeff Niedermeier was a letterwinner in football, wrestling, and track and field.

As a freshman in 2004, Jeff Niedermeier redshirted to prepare for college level play. In 2005, Jeff Niedermeier started 6 games out of the 9 he played. Jeff Niedermeier played primarily as right guard and contributed to the high rushing yards recorded by the team during games he played.
