While playing football for Harrisburg High School, Derrick Brown played offensive tackle, defensive tackle and defensive end. Derrick Brown helped lead Harrisburg to a 17-5 record during his final two seasons. Derrick Brown was an All-Conference selection as a junior and senior.

Derrick Brown joined the Buffalo Bulls football roster in 2007. The 6’2” 264 lbs defensive lineman didn’t play in any games during his first Buffalo Bulls football season. Derrick Brown chose the University of Buffalo because of its atmosphere.
