The Center for the Arts is a unique, non-profit cultural institution established by the University at Buffalo in 1994.
The mission for The Center for the Arts is to present a wide range of high quality performing arts and visual arts for the University, the State and the region. It will also enhance and augment the academic activities of the fine and performing arts departments at the University at Buffalo.
The University at Buffalo Center for the Arts has a wide variety of venues. From the intimate Black Box Theater to the opera-house scale Main-stage Theatre, there is a space that will suit your needs. The Atrium can accommodate a standing reception for up to 2,000 people, or seat 400 for an elegant dinner. The "warm" 400-seat Drama Theatre is ideal for plays, musicals, chamber orchestras, dance presentations, and performances by touring companies. The 210-seat Screening Room is available for motion picture screenings and film festivals, as well as video arts productions, speakers and panel discussions, poetry readings and press conferences.
