Head Coach Turner Gill returns to the Buffalo Bulls Football team for his third year in 2008.  Coach Gill has weathered challenging times well in his previous 2 years with the team through overseeing the transition of the team into Divison I football.  Coach Gill was named as the Mid-American Coach of the Year for 2007, partially based on his efforts with the Division I status.

The Buffalo Bulls football team wears blue and white jerseys and so does their huge mascot, Victor E. Bull.  The team plays in the University at Buffalo Stadium which can hold 29,000 people. 

The Buffalo Bulls football team had a rich tradition, but was cut for 7 years in the 1970s due to funding issues.  However, previous to and after this 7 year hiatus, the team has produced many capable players.  Several players have made the leap from Buffalo Bulls football to the NFL.  These stand-out former players include Edward Ellis, Ramon Gusman, Drew Haddad, Gerry Philbin, and Chad Upshaw.  Three players from the 2007 team were successfully drafted, which is the highest number in recent history.
